Autel MaxiScan MS300 Simple.
This tool is so simple and easy to use, an ape could do it. If you have access to the internet, you can check vehicle specific codes. If all you need is a code scanner and some way to clear them this is for you. If you want live sensor data or more, you need to move on to something more powerful. Autel is also a company that makes some of the code scanners for Mac Tools. Need I say more?
Autel MaxiScan MS300 LOVE IT.
Made a selection from other Identifyers & selected proper one for us to use. My wife has a 2003 Ford Tarus station wagon. The code yellow light kept coming on!
Our son spent 30 plus years at the Norfolf, VA. Ford assembly plant working on all kinds of vehickel as a pick-up & fix it worker on the assembly & chassie line! He worked on pickup trucks & cars before his appointment as a health inspector. The differece is the year of maufacture of the vehickle!!! 2003 models requior a different than 2002 models & therefore takes a different code detector!!! Most people don't know that!!! Perhaps AMAZON & OTHERS CAN ELABORATE
on this for the customer's sake & they could order more of these to improve customer's satisfaction & results!!! T.E. THIEMAN VA, BEACH, VA.

Autel MaxiScan MS300 Does the job very well. Have diagnosed and repaired 3 vehicles so far!
Autel MaxiScan MS300 Does the job very well. Have diagnosed and repaired 3 vehicles so far!
The title says it all. I bought this cheap OBDII scanner to check out what was wrong with my 1997 Subaru Legacy. The car had been having losses of power and stalling and what felt like misfires for a little while. I originally took my usual route and started swapping parts, which can get costly real quick. I replaced the spark plugs, plug wire, ignition coil, fuel pump, fuel filter and PCV valve. NO FIX!!!
After getting the scanner, I scanned, it took like 30 seconds and read the codes. I referred to the manual, then searched the code, description and model number on google. Read a couple forums and decided I needed to replace the MAF sensor and knock sensor. I found a used MAF sensor and bought it, $30 vs $300 at the store. I bought a new knock sensor, $10 vs $90 at the store. Voila! Every thing was running great on this 15 year old, 270000 mile beauty. I cleared the codes and they have been off for weeks! I then proceeded to check 2 other vehicles that were having problems and replaced what the code reader said was wrong and everything was correct.
On the Subaru, I spent about $400 on parts before I bought the scanner. Nothing helped. Paid $25 for this scanner, took 2 minutes to scan, spent ~$40 on parts and it was fixed. More than likely nothing else was wrong with the car and if I would have bought the scanner first I would have only spent about $65 instead of $465.
MONEY WELL SPENT!!

Autel MS300 Great Little Tool.
Autel MS300 Great Little Tool.
When I went to a garage to get some auto service I noticed they were using this exact scan tool and charging an arm and leg to do so. Upon return home I ordered this one at a very inexpensive price. Comes complete with info about what the codes mean. If you are a back yard mechanic and would like to know what is wrong with a particular part of your vehicle and don't have the tool and codes to ascertain, then this less than $21 purchase is a must for your tool box.
Autel MS300 Simple, gets the job done.
I didn't realize how valuable this device would be after owning it for 2 years. As stated, it's simple and gets the job done. Plug into your OBD 2 reader, retrieves codes then deletes. If you want to know exactly whats wrong with your vehicle after the scanning phase than this machine isn't for you. You'll have to do a little research for your error codes online or with the disk it provides you. Like I've said earlier... Simple and gets the job done. I value it greatly!

Autel MS300 Does the job for under $25.
All I wanted was to read codes and erase codes and this scan tool works great for that. I plugged it in, followed the directions, and saw the codes with no trouble.

Autel MS300 Works Great!
Autel MS300 Works Great!
I admit that I was skeptical due to the low price, but this unit works great! Just follow the instructions in the manual. I was able to read codes on a 2000 Land Rover Discovery, and diagnose that the check engine light was due to a loose wire on a sensor. Repair cost $0. This unit is also able to RESET codes by the way.
Autel MS300 Gets the job done.
I've never used any other scanner, so I can't say how well it works in comparison with other products, but it is fantastic for the price I paid ($18 at the time). It accurately diagnosed my car and I didn't have any issues understanding it. It would be nice to have a more informative and larger screen, but I don't even know if such a scanner exists.
Autel MS300 Cool little device for the novice car enthusiast.
I bought this device to check to see if there were any codes on a used car that I have owned for sometime, which is a Toyota. It plugs right in underneath the steering wheel and it immediately gets to work. However, this is not the "advanced" one that are over a hundred dollars but it will get the job done. It can tell you the VIN #, Functioning Systems, and if there are any codes or errors from the ECU. I would recommend to someone that is shopping for a new used vehicle or someone that likes to perform routine maintenance on their vehicle.
